Why Coach?

I have been very fortunate to always have exceptional coaches and teachers that have taught me sport and movement. From PE in elementary school to National Championships in College, I had the opportunity to be taught, mentored and coached by some of the best coaches in Canada. When you get to experience for yourself what great coaching is like, you know on a deep level the benefit of having someone who cares about you and your success in life and in sport.

Something inside of me has always wanted to be able to impact others in a similar way that all these coaches impacted myself. While in college, I began as a volunteer coach for the Nordic Ski Club, and the local High School Running team. This morphed into a paid position with the ski club, and I have since pursued coaching on a seasonal basis for organizations with existing programs.

I am branching my brother and I’s Running team into a coaching business, because I want to focus my attention and talents into building our community and helping others realize how they can use endurance activities to add value to their life, outside of outcome.

I want to see positive results in the running or the skiing, but ultimately I will measure success on how my athletes are enjoying peace, joy, and love in their lives and understanding the value that endurance sport plays in maintaining these things.

If we are a good coach-client fit, I look forward to working with you to find beauty in the suffering of running, and beauty in the highs and the lows of life. Ultimately, it is because I care that I want to see growth in the success and failure of your journey with running.

Be well friends.
